Some might say making public crypto price predictions takes balls – others argue it’s sheer stupidity! Here’s some of the high profile 2018 Bitcoin price predictions that didn’t quite go to plan… And read on to find out how you can win big by making your own end-of-year prediction.

Kay Van-Petersen

Saxo Bank Analyst, Kay Van-Petersen, forecast Bitcoin would hit between US$50,000 and US$100,000 in 2018.

The prediction was made on CNBC in early January as Bitcoin prices began to fall from the December 2017 peak.

Ran Neuner

CNBC’s influential ‘Cryptotrader’ host predicted Bitcoin would end 2018 at US$50,000.

He tweeted this to his 94,000 followers in February:

For the record, I am pinning this tweet. Bitcoin will finish 2018 at $50 000.

Tom Lee

Co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, Tom Lee, first predicted in January that Bitcoin would hit US$25,000 by the end of 2018.

The well-know Bitcoin bull lowered his price target to US$15,000 in November, but with only eight days left in 2018, even that is looking increasingly unlikely.

What is your Bitcoin price prediction?

High-profile Australian trader and educator, Craig Cobb, is one who’ll argue crypto predictions are in the ‘stupidity’ category.

“I know people ask for predictions, I get it. I just don’t go into that world, it’s not my thing. I trade trends and I often get it wrong,” he tells Micky.

But with 2018 nearing its end, Cobb is taking it to the people, launching a world-wide Bitcoin price prediction competition.

The unique competition gives anyone a chance to share in a US$14,863 prize pool, you just have to guess the Bitcoin price at the end of 2018.
